First Time / Need to Know at Urban Krag

Retention of submitted online waivers is 60 days.
There are two options for first time visitors.
The simplest option is bouldering. Bouldering is short climbs, close to the ground which doesn’t require the use of a rope or a partner. After the check-in process, we put you through a short safety intro and you’re on your way. It’s a great way to dip your toe into the sport.
To climb on the ropes, all climbers over the age of 14 must first complete a belay certification. Certifications are available by pre-registering on our website. They are offered Wed-Sun. People with experience may test out of the class, however it is still required to register on the website to guarantee their time slot. A belay class is $15 while testing out is $3. A $12.00 refund will be given if you’re able to pass with-out instruction. Any climber 13 or younger wishing to climb on ropes must be accompanied by a belay certified adult.
Preregistered belay certifications help keep costs down as we’re able to operate the facility more efficiently.

First timers who both climb and complete the belay certification class on the same day will receive a free week membership.
Class length is dependent on how many people are in the time slot and how quickly everyone learns. On average, 2 people take 30-45 minutes to get certified. It’s ideal to come with someone you know will be your belay partner, however we have a friendly community so it’s likely you’d find someone to climb ropes with. We do not offer any staff belayers or auto-belays.
Day passes are good ALL DAY.

The total charges for a first time (no prior experience) visit will be approximately: $40.66.

Digital Waivers
Please ensure all minors (under 18 years of age – minimum age is four years old) who are not accompanied by a parent or court appointed legal guardian come to Urban Krag with a hard copy (paper) waiver that is completed and signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please note: Legal guardians must present proof of guardianship to sign a child’s waiver.
